What is the Community Grants Program?
Wayne County’s Rouge River National Wet Weather Demonstration Project (Rouge Project) is currently administering a grant program to assist local communities and organizations in restoring their section of the Rouge River.

Who has received funding?
Communities, public agencies and nonprofit organizations located within (or partially within) the Rouge River Watershed.

How did the grant process work?
For each grant program, Wayne County Division of Watershed Management established project criteria and requested proposals from communities throughout the Rouge River Watershed. The purpose of the proposals was to document how the community will meet the goals of water quality improvement for the Rouge River.

What types of activities were funded?
Activities such as subwatershed management, geographic information systems, storm water, recreation and habitat, wetlands and septage/waste management have been funded through this project.
