Overall Status for Implementation of the Michigan Storm Water Voluntary Permit

Subwatershed Management Plans
Summary: All seven subwatershed completed their plans on schedule and submitted them to MDEQ in May 2001.

MDEQ Comments on Subwatershed Management Plans
Summary: The MDEQ has completed their review of plans and has provided their comments to the Subwatershed Advisory Groups.

Response to MDEQ Comments
Summary: The Subwatershed Advisory Groups are now evaluating the comments received from MDEQ and determining what changes, if any, are needed in the plans. As appropriate, discussions are being held with MDEQ.

Storm Water Pollution Prevention Initiatives (SWPPIs)
Summary: A workshop on SWPPI preparation was held by MDEQ and Wayne County Department of Environment on June 8, 2001. All communities with Certificates of Coverage were represented at the workshop.

SWPPI templates, sample SWPPIs, and standard tables for subwatershed goals were distributed by CD to all workshop attendees on August 2, 2001. Click here to review this information.

Upcoming Dates: The communities, county agencies and others that have a Certificate of Coverage have submitted their SWPPIs to MDEQ in accordance with their Certificate of Coverage requirements. MDEQ should complete their review of the SWPPIs by March, 2002.
