DataView
“It is not the facts
that we can put our fingers on that concern us but the sum of these
facts; it is not the data we want but the essence of the data.” John
Cheever

RPO DataView has been designed as a data exploration
tool which combines tabular data viewing, data plotting, summary statistics
and spatial display in one easy to use package. In addition, RPO DataView
allows for non-numeric data association (linking of graphics, photos
and text files) to sampling sites and provides for the creation of ASCII
text files for transferring data to other software programs.
DataView comes bundled with the complete set
of RPO monitoring data for the years 1994-2003 including: continuous
water quality (conductivity, dissolved oxygen, pH and temperature),
flow, rainfall, habitat, sediment, wetland vegetation and a variety of
other data types. Continuous water quality (CWQ) data, rain and flow
are monitored at 15 minute intervals but for data reduction purposes,
the data has been reduced to hour readings for flow and CWQ and hourly
sums for rainfall data.
System Requirements
DataView was developed using
MS Visual Basic® ESRI Map Objects LT® and
MS Access®. The DataView application has
been designed to work with Windows 95, 2000, and XP. System requirements
are: IBM® compatible
Pentium® PC, 800x600 display or better, mouse,
CD drive, 128 megabytes or more of RAM and a minimum of 30 megabytes
of free hard drive space.
